No fan motor = very hot?

hello, i'm currently on a deployment and it's hot as f$#% over here! i have a fan i found with what seems to be a burned out motor that i'm hoping to get working again. it's a lasko fan and i know my chances of getting it working again are slim but if by some miracle on this god forsaken earth it got working again, myself and my comrads wouldn't have to walk around naked praying for a cloud to block the sun. any pointers?
